These weeks have been transformative. At first, I was unsure of what to expect, but with each passing day, I’ve discovered more about myself and the sorority I am becoming a part of. What I’ve learned about myself most is the power of community and resilience. There have been moments of uncertainty, but the bond I’ve built with my sisters has given me strength and clarity.
Each Big Sister has impacted me in a unique way, and together they’ve shaped my experience into something more meaningful. Their mentorship has not only taught me about being a Kappa but about becoming a stronger, more confident version of myself.
Final Thoughts:
This has been filled with moments of growth and self-discovery, and I am grateful for every lesson learned. I look forward to continuing this journey, knowing that I am part of something greater than myself, a sisterhood that empowers, supports, and elevates every individual within it.
Thank you for creating a space where we can grow together—emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.

Reflecting on these weeks of my pledging journey is crucial. I have faced losses and built strong connections, endured sleepless nights, and diligently maintained the cleanliness of the pledge house. I have learned to confront obstacles head-on and pursue what I want with determination. I refuse to back down when difficulties arise; I rise to the challenge and keep pushing forward.
Big Sister Analytical

When I arrived at Kappa Gamma Xi, I was welcomed with open arms. It was a feeling I didn’t expect to hit me so quickly—one that said, you’re here now, this is happening. Touring the pledge house, I felt like I was stepping into a role I had imagined but never truly believed I’d be living out. It felt surreal, like a roleplay come to life.
These past few weeks have taught me determination and the strength to push forward even when things feel unclear. I’ve learned about unconditional love, the kind that allows you to start healing from the past in a safe space. I’ve realized that I do have a sisterhood that’s walking with me—every step of the way.
It also showed me some tough truths—like the fact that I need better time management. Real life doesn’t stop, but I need to balance my responsibilities better, especially during our research tasks and assignments.
To each sister—big and small—who’s helped me, supported me, or simply stood beside me during this journey: I appreciate you. Whether the moment was big or small, I’ve learned, listened, and grown through this experience. And though I felt discouraged at times, I remained present—because deep down, I knew this was where I was meant to be.
Big Sister Magnanimity,

To the Women of Kappa Gamma Xi,

As I sit down to reflect on my first weeks as a Seed of Yemaya, the word that keeps returning to me is becoming. These weeks have not been about proving myself or perfecting anything, but about slowly, sometimes uncomfortably, becoming more honest with who I am and who I am learning to be within this sisterhood.

These weeks have taught me that growth is rarely loud. Sometimes it looks like showing up exhausted but still present. Sometimes it looks like learning how to ask instead of shrinking. Sometimes it looks like realizing that I am allowed to take up space without apology. I came into this process unsure of myself, unsure of how I would fit, and unsure if I would be “too much” or “not enough.” What surprised me most is how often I felt safe, safe to be quiet, safe to be confused, safe to be learning out loud.

Some of the most meaningful moments were also the most challenging. Interviews and social tasks stretched me far outside my comfort zone as an introverted and autistic woman, and there were days I felt completely drained. But even in that exhaustion, I learned something important: that discomfort doesn’t mean I’m failing, it means I’m growing. I’ve also had moments of real joy: shared laughter, late conversations, teamwork in the kitchen, and the quiet reassurance of knowing I wasn’t navigating this alone.

The classes have been engaging and grounding. I appreciated how intentional the topics were and how they tied not just to sorority knowledge, but to personal development and accountability. The instructors were prepared and present, and I felt they genuinely wanted us to understand, not just memorize. The pacing felt thoughtful, and even when the material was dense, it was delivered with care. I especially valued moments where questions were welcomed and discussion felt encouraged rather than rushed.

The Big Sisters have each left an imprint on my experience in their own way. Whether through guidance, humor, patience, or quiet encouragement, I have felt supported more often than I expected to. Some offered clarity when I felt lost, others brought levity when things felt heavy, and others modeled strength and honesty simply by being themselves. Even brief interactions carried weight, they reminded me that leadership can be firm and still kind, structured and still human.

I have watched you struggle as humans. Disagree with each other, but find connection and alignment and work it out. I have watched how you don't let your personal feelings override your role as a leader.
I have felt your guiding light that when we had hiccups. like not understanding a task fully, Or tiny disagreements as sisters we could work it out as a family rather then fall apart and need you to step in like HR.

What I appreciate most is that I never felt like I had to be someone else to belong here. I was allowed to be learning. I was allowed to be slower. I was allowed to be me. That alone has made this experience deeply meaningful.

These weeks have helped me reconnect with my voice, my confidence, and my sense of worth. I am still growing, still finding my footing, but I no longer feel like I am doing so alone. I am grateful for the patience, the structure, the accountability, and the care that have gone into this process.

Thank you for holding space for truth, growth, and becoming. I carry these lessons with me as I continue forward, not just as a pledge, but as a woman learning to trust herself.

With respect and gratitude,
Big Sister Calculus

In this whole process of pledging from the beginning was challenging I won't lie but at the same time I never backed down within these four weeks taught me, be patient with each other when something is off or doesn't feel right always speak, but these weeks has also taught me values that I didn't know I had in myself. Strength, confidence, resilience, unity, purpose, and I could go a long list on about it, but I'll pause that statement there for now. I've gained sisters that are a part of me, I learned that we all have unique personalities about ourselves and I love that, and we can even crack jokes here and there I noticed me, my line sisters and our big sisters have a goofy fun sense of humor. I want to continue to go beyond where I stand, towards something bigger than myself.
Moments that stood out: Me, and my line sisters allowing ourselves to be open with each other, more vulnerable, connecting, laughing at funny moments we all have had and shared (funny good moments. ) When I teleport-ed to class on a line sister's head to be on time (of course I do make sure I properly apologize. ) The other day I fell down the window outside of class when I tried to teleport a different day but I laughed it off cause falling in the water was funny!
Another moment that stood out for me was us making our big sisters dinner task, when the dinner was over I thought it was a funny idea to have my avatar drink some Julio-shots, after the 4th one my avatar fell to the floor trust me it was too funny to not laugh at that moment.
My third moment that stood out was when we had some weeks where we'd have chores cleared for no punishment task and we was super happy about it !
But... is it wrong that I didn't mind the punishment task a little ? ( it was a little stress but hey it was still fun ) We even tried to come up with strategy plans to make sure we didn't get the extra tasks again .
My fourth moment that stood out for me was, creating more than just memories, but a our stories that reflect on who we're becoming now as we step further into the up coming weeks in our pledging process and trusting our process we know why we are here.
----------------------------------------------------------------
My Feed Back on Classes: Each class day was full of curiosity for me, wondering what we would be learning, I loved the class lessons that were given each day, it really made me put my brain into some over-drive work, because I told myself this, ' Amara you're here for a reason we all are, and I'm wanting to know where I'll grow .' I'm proud to be a part of Kappa Gamma Xi Arctic Sea line!
Here I've also learned the very true meaning of sister-hood, not in words. Being here, showing up, ensuring it by checking in on one another, my big sisters and even my line sisters I may not know how to comfort someone but I will give them a good listening ear and allowing them to know they're in a safe space to be themselves as they do for me.
The topics were very engaging, notes that my line sisters made, helped us through some of the classes or sometimes after class we'd get together and talk on the task or bring in ideas for the assignments and still have fun while doing so. I want to share I have had moments where I was overwhelmed but I have over came that fear and I feel proud, along with Having the lessons broken down was very useful and each assignment was well put together.
Instructors delivery was on point, if there was something I didn't understand my line sisters would help re-explain and if I still didn't grasp it i'd wait until after class to let the Instructor know where I was not grasping the understanding of said task and when they broke it down bit by bit of re-explaining I smiled happy with ease. The preparation was throughly on point along with the presence.
Big Sister Incomparable's impact on me, when I was stressing the first week, she came to me and checked on me letting me know I got this and to trust the process, ever since then the ' You got this , trust the process' has stuck with me ever since and it never left me, I am forever grateful for this advice.
Big Sister's Sacred's impact on me, Being true to myself and those around me, and be open , be vulnerable, always being full of positive chi .
Big sister's Analytic impact on me, Taught me to speak up, always ask questions, always read the room energy, and that we protect our sisters no matter where we are in SL , do not allow disrespect but to handle situations properly without giving reactions, and to be willing to learn, willing to listen and willing to grow , I am forever greatful to her advice on this.
Acknowledgment moments of mentor-ship: When ever I had concerns about an assignment my mentor Big Sister Sacred, has always answered any questions I've had pertaining to them, and has answered them throughly. I loved that my mentor always checked in with me to see if I needed more clarification and she delivered ! I also want to say she has a funny humor has ways of making any of us laugh when she enters the room or would spade support and wisdom upon us.

As I reflect on my first three weeks as a Seed of Yemaya, I find myself moving slowly through gratitude, humility, and awareness. This experience has been less about perfection and more about presence learning how to show up honestly, listen deeply, and trust the unfolding of the process. These weeks have gently shaped me, reminding me that becoming is just as sacred as arriving.
My Experience So Far This journey has taught me patience with myself and respect for the discipline required to grow. I’ve learned that strength does not always announce itself loudly it often shows up in consistency, reflection, and quiet perseverance. There were moments that stretched me emotionally and mentally, but even in those moments, I felt guided rather than pushed. What stood out most was how intentional everything felt. Each task, conversation, and expectation carried meaning. I’ve found joy in small victories, comfort in shared understanding with my pledge sisters, and reassurance in knowing that this process is designed to build us, not break us. I am learning to move with purpose, grace, and openness.

Feedback on Classes The classes have been thoughtfully organized and deeply enriching. Each topic felt purposeful and relevant, encouraging not only learning but self-examination. I appreciated how the material invited us to reflect on who we are and who we are becoming, both within Kappa Gamma Xi and beyond it. Big sisters demonstrated care, preparedness, and intentional delivery. Their presence created a space that felt structured yet welcoming, allowing the lessons to resonate rather than overwhelm. I felt supported in learning and encouraged to engage meaningfully with the content.

Seed of Yemaya

Family serves as the foundation of my identity and purpose within Kappa Gamma Xi. I am honored to be guided and shaped by my Greek lineage and the influence of my Big Sisters: Sacred, Analytical, and Incomparable. Their leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence have played a significant role in my development and understanding of true sisterhood. I am equally proud of my bond with my line sisters Tatiana, Thalia, and Amara whose shared dedication, resilience, and unity strengthen my journey and deepen my appreciation for this sisterhood. Beyond Greek life, I remain closely connected to my family. I am supported by my mother, Tatiana, my gma Kimora , my gpa jayvo and my twin King. Their encouragement and unwavering support continue to inspire my personal and professional growth.
