The Birth of Kappa Gamma Xi

Piscesana De La Fe-Valentina and Lea Amante'

It all started with one sister seeing something in another sister and immediately started preparing her for greatness—that day was July 23, 2024. Lea Amante' encouraged, uplifted, and empowered her sister to create a sorority because she saw something that her sister didn't even know she had. It was then that Piscesana De La Fe-Valentina trusted her sister's vision and said, “Lets do it.” Once Pisces shared her vision with Lea, it was at that moment, Lea knew that Pisces wasn’t just founding a sorority — she was birthing a movement.

Pisces is known for her deep connection to water, her energy, and her unshakable spirit. Kappa Gamma Xi was not created from a template; Pisces built it from her soul. Every piece of it — from the name to the colors, from the colors to the stones, from the stones to the ceremonies, from the ceremonies to the Goddess — everything was all soaked in meaning. Her seven guiding principles were created based on her; they were her daily compass: loyalty, honesty, strength, vision, knowledge, protection, and sacrifice. If you didn’t live these seven principles, you didn’t cross over. That's how she determined the solid from the temporary.

Lea Amante’, the cofounder with unique wings carried this sorority on her back alongside her sister. While Pisces allowed the waves of the water to guide her destiny, Lea allowed her connection to birds to rise her destiny — specifically, the Bermuda Longtail. That bird wasn’t chosen for its looks; it was chosen for what it stood for: endurance, grace, and the kind of loyalty that flies back home no matter how far it travels. Together, Pisces and Lea were elemental — water and freedom. Pisces has the spirit of the ocean while Lea has the unique spirit of grace, freedom, and purpose.

They didn’t want a sorority built on popularity or numbers. They wanted a sisterhood that could weather storms, hold each other accountable, and rise together. So, Pisces custom built a pledging process that was meant to be very challenging — six weeks of loyalty, honesty, protection, strength, vision, knowledge and sacrifice. No shortcuts. No easy way out. Just raw transformation. And that’s why only the strong survive.

At the heart of it all is Yemaya — the connection to the Sisterhood, the mother to all seven seas, and the Goddess of the sorority. She watches over the sisters like a mother who knows when to nurture and when to test. Every ceremony, every challenge, every moment of unity is a tribute to her power and Pisces’ vision.

Kappa Gamma Xi is a wave. It’s a flight. It’s a legacy stitched together by two women who refused to settle for less. And every sister who is chosen to enter into Yemaya's Island: will never walk out the same.
